Well if you're asking that, I thank you for reading the FAQ first. Though I'm perturbed about why you would not even know what the one show we do is about and somehow getting to this site.

Konjiki no Gash!! the manga and Konjiki no Gash Bell!!, written by Raiku Makoto-sensei (that's japanese name order, with last name first), the anime is about the battle of 100 demon children who are competing to become king which takes place every 1000 years. Each demon is paired with a human partner who is given a spell book of a specific color, and the human can cast the demon's spells through their book. If a demon's book is burned, they disappear and return to the Demon World. The last demon remaining becomes the king. The show is oriented around Gash Bell and his human partner, Kiyomaro Takamine.

The rest, you'll need to watch for yourself. :)

We host the old episodes of Gash from the beginning, because none of the old groups that did this show host them anymore.

From what I've found out, the other groups stopped doing the show for various reasons, and then someone else took up the series. Most of this is based on things I've asked people who were in the group a long time ago, like dythim anf the former founder Izumishiro.

Anime-Empire & Aoshi-Fansubs (1-17) : This was a joint at first between these two groups, before the show was liscensed. Aoshi stopped at 17. They don't have a website or channel, but I believe the group dissolved, or else everyone who wanted to keep working on Gash joined Anime-Empire.

Anime-Empire (18-33) : These guys are still in fansubbing, their site is here:

Even after all this time, there are still banners for Gash on their site. This is the sort of group that stops doing an anime when it's liscensed, so they discontinued it when it was liscensed and stopped distributing it.

Vulcan 300 (34-40) : The people who wanted to continue Gash from A-E made this group setup to only work on Gash. It had a website that's not hosted anymore, and when it was up, didn't really have anything on it. That was http://www.gash-bell.com/

Vulcan300 & Anime-Destiny (41-44) : A-D did a joint with Vulcan 300. Apparantly, V300 wasn't working too well anymore, and dythim, which had been the head of the group at the time, didn't have enough time to work on that along with Kaizoku-Fansubs. So he asked Izumishiro to take up working on the show, who was head of AD at the time. Izumi lost interest in the show around episode 45, and I joined at about episode 48.

Anime-Destiny (45-73) : So here we got to basicly our presant state. I worked really hard doing I can't tell you how much. It's not just work on the episodes, I had to completely reorganize everything and get new staff and all kinds of things. Had to redo the site about 3 times, hosting changed, we got all out good distro setup, etc. I had to figure out everything when the old leader left, but I was able to keep the group together even when there were times when we didn't have people to work on episodes, and such things.

Anime-Destiny & Jinchuuriki (74-78) : And here starts one of those times when we couldn't get stuff done. One translator had left without giving any warning, promising he'd be back (It's been over a year, and still no. He said it would be a month.) So we had no one to actively translate. So the head of this group eventually got a person to translate some episodes by paying them. This guy was pretty erratic, and got upset and overreacted a lot, but that happens, and there had been worse people than that who didn't help as much as them.

Anime-Destiny (79-84) : Bayoab, the translator who usually at that point had done checking, translated these episodes. Since no one was helping us in Jinchuuriki at this point, they weren't in a joint at the time. Between these times, they changed names... like he sold the name of the old group and started "NarutoBuzz" and "BleachBuzz" and such things. They I think subbed the animes and mangas of those shows, not too well.

Anime-Destiny & Buzz Network (85-90) : Since there were various groups with Buzz in the name, the leader of former Jinchuuriki (ff7799 was his name) said to use this name. Eventually he got bored with the show, and continued to be outraged by things that had nothing rerally bad with them. Also he was the head of groups doing several other shows, and he was stressing himself out a bit. Also the person who'd been translating, WinterLion, mistakenly got offended when I said that episode 78 had been stalled by the vague statement "stuff got messed up with translation" or something. She took this to mean we thought she was doing a bad job, really it was because bayoab was unsure how to phrase some bunch of sentences to use the words we had translated the things as before, so they would make sense in sequence. WinterLion wasn't a fan of the show and was just hired and paid by Jinchuuriki, so she hadn't seen earlier episodes and such. Anyway, she didn't want to work in the group anymore after episode 88 for those reasons. I later explained it to her and she said she understood. We stopped working with this group then, partially because the people in the group were mad at us for various reasons that were mostly made up of jumping to conclusions. Winterlion worked at Mangahelpers, and I don't think she's been there since April. FF7799 goes under another name working in NarutoBuzz (I think he gve up the other groups.) Doing the Naruto anime and manga. His site has a lot of ads and fluff.

Anime-Destiny (91-Presant) : From there we worked as a long group. One translator helped us get to 100 and bayoab translates episodes past there. Now we're only working on one part of the series, and bayoab can translate it well and fast enough to get along. Occasionally someone else helps Also we work on the manga starting at Volume 18. At the moment we're stable enough to not need to work in a joint with another group again, and we can move at a fairly steady pace.

Well really I doubt many people would be interested enough to read all of that, and that was the summerized version.

Here's the current plan on when to do the 2 Gash Bell movies and OAVs:

Movie 1: 101 Banme no Mamono (101st Unlisted Demon)
Originally, we were going to sub this much earlier. Though there were problems getting it translated, we ended up needing everyone who'd been translating the movie for translating the anime.
This movie doesn't have any spoilers past where Umagon's partner is introduced, in episode 65. But it takes place some time just after the Zophise arc ends. We'll most likely release this somewhere before we release episode 110.

Movie 2: Mechavulcan no Raishuu (Attack of the Mechavulcan)
This movie was released between episode 118 and 119, so we'll try to release it around there.

OAV 1: 00F: The Man with the Golden Tits
There were 2 short OAVs made, this first one is pretty weird and was released as some sort of bonus DVD to subscribers of Shonen Sunday. It contains a 15 minute episode and a short trailer of Movie 2. We'll release it around episode 111.

OVA 2: Hashire Gash!! Ubawareta Umagon
This is probably some sort of filler episode of Gash that was never aired because the anime ended at episode 150, the last episodes of the anime were changed to end the show quickly. it's about that guy whoo they thought was Umagon's Book Keeper who was really a thief, from episode 46.

Update - We're more so concentrating on the series, rather than the movies and specials. So we'll probably do them a lot later than they're supposed to take place. But we'll get to them eventually. Probably after the anime is done completely.

If there's ever some sort of Gash OVA that continues the story, we'll sub that too. But there are currently not plans for anything like that.

Konjiki no Gash Bell!! has 150 episodes. It ended at the end of the third arc. Starting at episode 138 (Though there are no major changes until 139), the episodes started to diverge from the manga because the mangaka broke his hand, and couldn't continue the manga for a few months, causing the anime to catch up to the manga, and they changed what happened and ended the series quickly. Also, apparently the sponsors in part decided to end the show because of declining sales of the trading card game.

This filler ending only retains a few of the things of the original story, but they changed major parts of the plot to make is much faster and it's a considerably worse story. Because of this, we decided to start scanlating the manga so we could properly continue the story.
Up to 139 or so the story is still very good. The rest is still worth watching though the story is not as good, and the battle to become king is not concluded, but left open ended, plus different characters who were defeated or not, changed. However, near the manga's end Raiku seems to have drawn what happens to be similar to the anime's end to make it have more similarities, and perhaps the part after the credits in 150 is actually a flashfoward to Volume 33, except with the various changes made at the end of the anime.

A couple names we used were changed slightly thruout the anime. Here they are and the reasons:

Professor Riddle: Originally he was "The Riddle Professor", but later we learned it was definitly meant as a name, not that he was the professor "of riddles", so that was changed.

Wonlei: The original name was Wonrei, but with the letter combination, it pretty much always sounds like an l. L anr R are interchangable in japanese, so either one is fine really. Li Yen we use as 2 words because of how it sounds, also. Plus, becuase it looks nicer without a dash.

Bari: Bari is closer to the original name than Bali. So we'll probably spell it that way. Bari is his last name, his first name is later shown to be "Vincent", which is sort of a joke. Still, it makes it clear his name's not supposed to be "Barry" or something.

Sherry: I think at some point early on, Sherry was spelt "Sherie", we've simply used "Sherry" because it was used by the people immediately before us, and looks nicer. Also it might reffer to french wine, because Sherry is french. Either spelling however, is acceptable.

Zophise: Although it wasn't the name, Zophise as it turned out is male, despite the female voice and outfit. It said so in Character Book 2, which we didn't discover for a while. Here's a scan:

The mangaka, Raiku Makoto-sensei does FAQs in the character books, where that sort of thing is revealed. I'd have to scan the whole thing and get it cleaned and it would take a lot of work to scanlate those, but we might eventually.
