Here’s a post about some stuff
Hey I thought I’d made a new post here, why not.
Uh, so if you haven’t heard already, right now Konjiki no Gash!! is getting a sequel series cleverly named “Konjiki no Gash!! 2” by the same author as the original. I know some of the folks working on scanlating it and I think they’re doing a fine job. It’s pretty fun so far, Raiku-sensei has just finished what equates to volume 1. So check that out if you’re interested. Maybe if the sequel series gets popular enough we’ll get a new anime that either redoes the whole series or redoes the Faudo arc to the end so that finally gets animated.
Also the Kingdom anime is now in its 4th season and seems like it’s going pretty well. I need to get caught up at some point soon. I’ve been really busy and don’t have a lot of time to read/watch all the stuff I’d like to. After many years of doing way-too-many fan translation projects in addition to working a full time job it gets harder to find time to dedicate to something that you know will take many hours to finish.
Right now I’m working on the series Section Chief Shima Kōsaku with my other group, Hi Wa Mata Noboru. I hope you’ll all check that out if you’re into seinen manga that explore different aspects of life with a struggling protagonist making their way through the world.
Oh, hey. They announced a Kingdom season 3!
It only took… Holy shit, 6 years?!
Ok well there’s that. Uh, I’m not planning on working on it as I’m sure it’ll get an official version in some form at this point. And most of the staff has moved on to other stuff, so I’d need to replace everybody. But check out all the manga I’m actively working on on Hi Wa Mata Noboru.
Hey, I haven’t posted anything here in years so I figure I’d write a better post to be at the top of the page.
Right now the group is inactive because there aren’t any anime we want to work on. At least none I have time to attempt. 90+% of anime have an official version at this point and I don’t see much point in fansubbing a series every week if there’s going to be a perfectly decent legal alternative coming out days beforehand.
So right now I’m focusing on scanlating manga and translating novels.
That’s all on my other site, Hi Wa Mata Noboru.
We recently finished the long-running shounen manga Toriko, and currently ongoing we’re doing Gintama, Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure Part 8 – JoJolion, Innocent, 3-Gatsu no Lion, 81diver, and Seikimatsu Leader Den Takeshi!
3-Gatsu no Lion has an anime airing as I write this. Though it’ll probably end around volume 6-7 and we’ve finished up to what’s out in Japan at the moment and are trying to stay up to date on it (Volume 12). And for fans of Toriko, Seikimatsu Leader Den Takeshi! is the first series Toriko’s author, Shimabukuro-sensei, wrote. If you liked Toriko I think you’ll enjoy it. I’m also working on some of the Jojo novels, which are a pretty lengthy process. Anyhow I hope you guys check some of that stuff out.
Hey, the 10th anniversary of this group is… like a week ago or so.
I’m not entirely sure of the exact day as I wasn’t here when it started, nor is anyone else. Edit: According to IzumiShiro who just stopped by again, the official start date is 10-26-04. I joined in April of 2005. But this group originally started November 14th of 2014 by IzumiShiro and Xero. Izumi stops by the IRC channel every once in a while to say hi, but I haven’t seen him in a while. One of those times he told me the group started on November 14th 2004, he thinks. Xero left after a few months I think. I never talked to him, I think he was Izumi’s friend and didn’t have time to work on the group anymore. The projects they did when they started were:
Ah! My Goddess (Ah! Megumi-sama!!!)
Lime Iro Ryuukitan X CROSS
Konjiki no Gash Bell!!! Gash!!!
Mahoraba -Heartful Days-
And I think they only did a few of those for the most part. Mostly because of poor management, to be honest. I started to work on Gash Bell and had to deal with that management thing for a while back when I was 15 before Gash Bell got settled into being released on a regular basis. A lot of which had to do with fixing the hosting for the site, rebuilding the site several times, dealing with horrible group members, dealing with group members that didn’t exist at all seemingly, and that sorta thing. Anyhow, a lot of people have come and gone in that time and apparently not all that many groups exist for this long so I thought I’d mention it. Here’s a list of everyone that’s been on the staff at any given point. Generally in the order the joined or quit, but most that quit just stopped showing up or we no longer had anything for them to work on, so it’s not exact. And some just helped out when we didn’t have anybody, things like that. So I thought I’d mention it.
Kotono (Lachette, Belldandy)
Uh, I’m still too busy with other stuff to try to take on any more anime. Like I mentioned in the last post. And I’m not sure if we have enough staff that have time to actually finish any, but we’ll see what happens in the future. Then there’s also the fact that most good anime are licensed by some official sub that’s either simulcast or subbed within a week. It’s a very different world from when I was 15 and couldn’t find any place to watch Gash Bell. Ah, nostalgia. Anyhow, just thought I’d mention this.
Toriko Batches & Konjiki no Gash Bell!! OVA 2
Hey, I realized I’d never made batch torrents for the last third of Toriko. So we got that setup.
Here’re the links for the whole series now:
Also, someone made this at some point. It might have more seeds than the earlier torrents. I might try to setup prefix’s seedbox to seed the earlier torrents for a while.
Also, this was something we’d finished a while ago (After a huge number of problems delaying it), Konjiki no Gash Bell!! OVA 2. We weren’t gonna release it until we finished Movie 2 but that still needs a lot of work and it doesn’t look like it’s gonna be happening soon. So I’m just gonna post it now and maybe we’ll get to Movie 2 at some point.
Otherwise, nothing’s changed really. I’m focusing on scanlating and getting some back projects in that area done. If either Kingdom or Toriko continue at some point I’d like to work on those if we can at the time. If you wanna check out the stuff I’m working on, the site I lead is here:
and I work on a bunch of other groups and I generally post my translations and list which group it’s for here:
Toriko Movie 2 Bishokushin no Special Menu
Ok, we’re all done. And so, we’ve finished all of Toriko. I think this movie’s pretty fun, hope you enjoy. This took a while because, like I said, it’s really long. That generally means the difficulty goes up exponentially, and we’re not a big group with tons of people to fill in and do every job all the time. A lot of the time we’re constantly short on staff and have to wait for people to be available. But anyhow, it’s all done.
For now, I’ve got a whole bunch of manga and things like that I wanna work on that I couldn’t do while doing 4 weekly projects (The two anime on this site plus the two manga on hiwamatanoboru.com) as I was doing over the course of the Kingdom anime running which I’m working on catching up with. As for Anime-Destiny we’re probably not gonna be doing much for the next few months at least as I catch up on those and get other stuff in my real life in order. We’ll see if Toriko or Kingdom get another season, and hopefully we can do those. I’m kind of at the point in my life where translating anime on a weekly basis as well as managing a fansub may take up too much of my time and put too much stress on me to continue anymore, but I’ll see where I am once I get some of those back projects done. And maybe we can try to pick up something else at that point (Just realize we’re not gonna do any projects that have official subs already except ones we’ve already started). For now, go read the Kingdom manga and Toriko manga, they’re awesome. See you guys later.
Okay, and so, we have the end of the Human World Arc. A few plot points kind of veer into where the manga was at the end of the Human World Arc there. And the story’s definitely not over. So perhaps there will be an anime adaptation of the Gourmet World arc at some point in the future (Maybe after the Boo Saga of Dragonball Kai ends. We don’t know really, though. It’ll depend on how well the Toriko’s manga and its products sell and that sort of thing). If so, we’d cerainly like to sub it, but we don’t know if/when that’ll be and we don’t know what’ll be going on in our lives at that point in time. Right now, I’m gonna enjoy not having a single show I have to sub on the weekends for a bit. Either way, I hope you guys enjoyed the series thus far. I really liked it despite the minor changes from the manga. Also check out the manga because it’s amazing and I work on that, too.
Also we’ll be working on getting the Toriko movie done in the coming weeks. So look forward to that. I haven’t really had much time to work on it thus far, and movies are the length of several episodes so please be patient with us.
Ok, one more episode left. It looks like they’re going with an original ending of some sort. The way things go in the manga were probably too depressing, I can’t tell how much they’re gonna tie it back to the original story though. Either way, it’s been a great run.
I haven’t had time to work on the movie really. It’s a long thing, the length of several episodes, and I’ve had a lot of other projects and things in my life to work on. I’m gonna be working on that once the TV anime ends.
Apparently there is no Toriko next week (The week of March 9th). So we’ll see you in two weeks. Then there are 3 episodes the next 3 weeks until it ends.
