Kingdom S2 01
Okay, this is all done. Episode 1 of the new season of Kingdom. It’s awesome, check it out.
Getting this episode took a while for a few reasons:
1. We had to translate the OP/ED in addition to the episode.
2. The OP/ED, credits, and other things had to be styled, karaoke-timed, etc.
3. We got the raws a day late because the show is new so our raw provider didn’t know to cap it so we had to find a different raw source than normal.
4. The show in general takes a lot of time and effort to translate and check.
5. I still had to do Toriko, other projects I have, and all my other life obligations, including a full-time job, in addition to translating this and making sure all the first-episode jobs and regular jobs get done.
6. We do this for free, putting considerable effort for basically nothing in return for the sake of fans so they can enjoy the series. So this is a hobby, we can’t make it the top priority in our lives to get everything done in a few hours or whatever. We only have one person per job and no substitutes for anything, so the process has to be done with consideration to everyone’s schedules/time zones.
7. Lots of signs.
Anyhow, it’s totally awesome. I hope you all enjoy it. Basing on what’s in this episode, they’re back-tracking to get some of the stuff from the manga that was skipped in the first season animated. Not the assassin arc probably because that’s kind of impossible at this point, given that half of it is Qiang Lei’s backstory. But stuff like Zi Xia is in the Ending indicates they’ll do Zheng’s flashback arc. Anyhow, the next episode shouldn’t take so long. Hope you guys enjoy it.

The encode for 105 seems to have been 104, somehow. That’s not something I usually have to look for… So I need to get our encoder to reencode it. I’ll post it when it’s done.

Okay, this episode’s all done. And it’s a pretty good one. Lotta stuff happening. We have a couple new people seeming to work out. We could really use a dedicated typesetter though, still. Any any experienced editors or QCers would help out a lot, especially for when Kingdom starts. That’s a job that really takes experience to do well and improve the script. Anyhow, enjoy, everyone.
I made these batch torrents of episodes 51-100, too. It took a long time because I basically had to upload them overnight several days in a row and I kept forgetting.

Oookay. So here we are, big episode 100. This episode has a new animation for the OP, since the last one was specifically for the collab. And a new ED.
And in addition to that, I have an announcement I need to make. We’ve been working on this series for a really long time now, over 2 years. And since then a lotta staff has come and gone. People’s schedules change and people gain and lose interest. Right now, we’re seriously in need of more staff to continue working on this project. As it stands I’m having to translate, time, typeset, mux, and release almost every episode. In addition to managing it and making sure all the jobs get done. And that takes something like 8 hours a week just for this one project. Like half the time someone else times it, and usually those episodes are ones that take until Tuesday. Even though we have 3 timers none of them can really actively work on this project. Typesetting doesn’t take that long because it’s mostly just a couple of static signs and the attack effects, and one person does the OP/ED effects and Zebra’s attacks (Which they seem to change every time and I have no idea why). Also we used to have 4 QC/editors and right now we only have two. It’s a huge amount of work very few people are handling, and I’m working a full time job now and it’s no longer reasonable for me to be doing that many things for this one project. It takes up too much time all on late Saturday/Sunday/Monday and it basically occupies all my free time on those days, and having to deal with some jobs maybe or maybe not being done by someone else and then doing them myself at 1-3AM when they’re not more than half the time isn’t really something I can do anymore. And that’s about 48 weeks out of the year. We’re seriously in need of dedicated people to do some of these jobs. That’s what I’m saying. If we can’t get them soon, we’re going to have to drop this project, because I just can’t keep this up. The same goes for Kingdom, I definitely can’t be doing 3 jobs on that when it starts again in June, either.
