I still think that overing 10bit only is the wrong approach.
Many (all) streaming boxes only offer 8bit so playback on these devices are not possible anymore…
Furthermore h.265 offers better compression/less artifacts so why not go all the way and offer h.264 8bit and h.265… VLC/ffmpeg is already up to speed for decoding it…
We do still offer the 480p version in 8bit.
10bit 720p has been the subtitling standard for some time now, and h265 is not yet viable as a release format.
So I’ll have to watch 480p SD on my TV or 720p 10bit HD on my notebook… 🙁
